About the Camp
Vater's Youth Cross Country Camp is a free to register, one week long clinic for kids entering grades 1st through 8th. Sessions take place from 6pm to 7pm, Monday to Friday, with Saturday being a fun-run/race event that takes place from 7pm to 9pm. All taking place at the Iola Winter Sports Club.
Led by experienced coaches who are excited about youth development. The camp sessions will be a mix of easy and challenging runs, fun games, and learning about various running concepts, all in supportive and fun environment.
Sign upWe begin each session with an easy jog and some warm up drills. Followed by either a short timed run(15-25 minutes), relay-races, or challenging hill repeats. With the rest of the time, we play various tag games. Ending off with a yummy snack.
A small cross-country meet that gives the campers and community an opportunity to test their fitness and have some fun running hard. The event is called The Sundown Mile, and information can be found here. The camp kids run a one-mile course and get cheered on by everyone in attendance! Campers are automatically registered for this event. (Parents or older siblings can run in this event!)
2025 Recap
